Shropshire Trip 2009 Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday This year our blog was written by the Year 6 children on the trip so Dear Everyone, Today we arrived at Cloverley Hall, our accommodation for the rest of the week. We settled in well after a tiring but enjoyable day at old Trafford! It was a great day out but a very hot one as the sun was shining! When we got here we had a lovely dinner- jacket potato, sausages and beans and cheese, my favourite! Afterwards, we went outside to play tennis, football and volleyball! We had great fun sitting on the bouncy tree and talking to friends. Most people were in the tennis court but there is a huge forest A.K.A woods which is very popular too! Anyway, now a lot of people are still playing outside and some (including me) are watching Eastenders before we go back out for more fun! We will write some more tomorrow, Night, night!
Today we went to Cadbury World, the place where your favourite chocolate is made. It was really hot. We went in the factory and had a very good time. We all got to taste some of the chocolate (melted.)
After we went to back on the bus and went to the National Sea Life centre (about 10 minutes away from Cadbury’s world.) There were loads of types of fish there such as sharks, seahorse and Corel fish etc.
We all came back to the hotel and had our lovely dinner. After that we went back to our rooms and had them checked. Then we went outside and played for several hours. Lots of fun! Can’t wait for tomorrow. Chester Zoo and pool!Today we went to Chester zoo. When we got there we split up into our groups and went to explore. This is a list of animals we saw: When we got to the bus we went to Chester swimming, it was great they had three pools. One was for the little children but big children could swim in it. One had a slide and the other was too deep to go in (although many dived into it!). After we had finished in the pools we came back to the hotel and had tea. Later on we had a room check. After this, we went outside to play.
Today was the day that we all looked forward to - the best day of the trip! We had been placed in specific groups as some of us were braver than the others and wanted to go on all of the big rides. We met up with the teachers at 3 locations during the day and were then free to have fun! The best rides were: Oblivion, Nemesis, Air, Rita Queen of Speed (0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds!), Hex, Water flumes, White water raft and Duel…although there were many others. We all bought lots of things like photos and mouse mats and key rings that showed us on the different rides. We returned to the hotel at 7 pm for our evening meal and then played outside. After we had packed and had our rooms checked we left Cloverley Hall. We travelled to Bradford and went to the Imax 360 cinema. We had lunch and visited the shop (of course!) and then we saw a 3-D film about space, it was great. We all enjoyed the special effects and now some of us even want to be astronauts.
We then returned to Alnwick. We were delayed by an hour at the Metro Centre and we finally arrived at 6.20, tired but excited at seeing our families again.
