Link Studies
Co-ordinator of Linked Studies - Mrs S. Hall
For all pupils, a proportion of their learning is project-based. Education has to adapt to our rapidly changing world; link studies is a method of teaching that engages students in learning knowledge and skills through an extended inquiry process structured around complex, authentic questions and carefully designed tasks.
Pupils are given opportunities to explore, negotiate, interpret and create.
By linking foundation subjects such as Humanities, Religious Education, PSHE and Citizenship and Art together pupils have more opportunities to develop transferable skills. It is clear that pupils need both knowledge and skills to succeed. This need is driven not only by workforce demands for high-performance employees who can plan, collaborate and communicate, but also by the need to help all young people learn civic responsibility and master their new roles as global citizens.
